Operation Stand Down America will be building a “Guardian Angel” duplex cabin for 2 low-income veterans starting in June of 2022. The “Guardian Angel” unit will be of the same floor plan and design as the “Battle Buddy” model built in Scottsville, Ky. A crack team of veterans and civilians will depart via convoy from Nashville, Tn. June 6th, 2022 in route to Alaska to do the 2-month build. The convoy will be camping at various locations along the route with more details to follow. We are looking for unpaid volunteers that understand what selfless service is and are team players. This is not a mission for anyone that is not used to sleeping outdoors or braving the elements and would be sacrificing their time, effort, and energy for our nation’s most vulnerable veterans. We will provide food, sleeping bags, tents, toiletries, and comradery to all that have the courage to make the journey. Alaska from what we know from local command is one of the few states that does not actually have a veteran’s home and has the highest population of veterans per capita in the U.S. Operation Stand Down America is committed to building affordable unsubsidized housing across America as well as overseas in the years to come. Operation Stand Down America is currently building our first affordable unsubsidized “Battle Buddy” unit in Scottsville, Ky. Inspired by many of our low-income veterans that must be subsidized into neighborhoods with high crime, drugs, gambling, and other negative influencers the chances of success for many of our veterans that struggle with i.e., mental illness, drug addiction, gambling and many other vices is almost impossible. Because many of our veterans fall below the area median income they are forced to live where they are placed because they must be subsidized based off their income. Our team is dedicated to doing better for our less fortunate comrades. Those interested in volunteering for Mission Scottsville please contact:

Operation Stand Down America at the request of many veterans will be building our first affordable housing unit in Costa Rica starting in 2023. As most of us know affordable safe housing is rapidly diminishing in our nation. Many of our disabled veterans receive a small benefit check based off their disability rating and a large majority of them cannot work anywhere after military service in which forces many of them to live in subsidized housing. We have done the study and $1500 a month in the U.S. does not get you much and is certainly not keeping up with inflation. After much research and talking to local authorities we will be building our first container home on piers. The location of this affordable housing will be in the Grecia area of Costa Rica where the temperature fluctuates between 60- and 85-degrees year-round. We chose the container home model because of its durability and its ability to withstand the elements. Those interested in the project either for volunteering or donations please contact:
